July Baking: Breads, Doughnuts, and Peach Cake

I’ve done quite a lot of baking with Violet this month, and thought I’d share of few of the recipes we enjoyed best!

What have you been baking lately?

I’d love to hear recipe recommendations!

1. Apple Donuts

We all 3 LOVED this recipe by “The Cake Blog
It’s not too fussy and the apple flavor really comes through. I’ll definitely make these again!

2. Sourdough

I’ve been baking sourdough on and off this month using the master recipe by Elaine of “Sourdough Foodbod
It works for me every time, and I am so happy whenever I get to bake a loaf!!

3. Challah

One of the first bread recipes I ever loved was Challah by Peter Reinhart. I use the recipe from his book “The Bread Baker’s Apprentice” and it always comes out so light and airy!

This month I made mini loaves so we could freeze some easily, and I love how they look all in a row.

4. Peachberry Buckle

We liked this cake so much we made 4 in one month and gifted some!! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of all 4 cakes, LOL. But I did get a snapshot of Violet helping me to bake them. πŸ™‚

This recipe by King Arthur Flour is definitely a keeper. It’s a great way to use up peaches and we loved the texture.
